Red Chapel Beach

Red Chapel Beach is a small, roughly 150-metre rocky shoreline in Sandy Bay on the River Derwent. Rocky outcrops, boatsheds, overhanging trees, nearby houses and the surrounding slopes create an intimate urban coastal setting. Access is on foot from a small grassy area at the southern end, so the visit is better suited to a short shoreline stop and scenic walk than to a full-service beach day.
