Nutgrove Beach

Nutgrove Beach is an approximately 700-metre sandy beach in Sandy Bay on the broad estuarine shore of the River Derwent. Its north-facing shoreline looks toward kunanyi / Mount Wellington, the opposite shore and Hobart’s urban waterfront. People use it for walking, paddling, picnicking and dog exercise, making it a convenient city-side beach. A 200-metre low-speed water zone extends toward the Sandy Bay Sailing Club, so swimmers and watercraft users should remain alert to nearby activity.
