Little Howrah Beach

Little Howrah Beach is a low-energy sandy shore on the Derwent Estuary, separated from Howrah Beach by a small rocky spit. Howrah Point, the South Arm Peninsula and Bruny Island shelter it from large ocean swells, although storm conditions can send stronger waves up the Derwent. Access is from Howrah Road, and the foreshore is used for family picnics, walking, jogging and water activities. It is a convenient local beach, but water conditions should still be assessed on the day.
