Howrah Beach
- Family friendly
Howrah Beach is a sandy urban public beach on Hobart’s eastern shore beside the Derwent estuary. Three main access points and associated car parks make it convenient to reach by vehicle, while the foreshore supports walking, picnics, barbecues and play-area visits. The Clarence Foreshore Trail runs alongside the beach and links it with Bellerive Beach and Little Howrah Beach, creating a useful route for a longer shoreline outing. Conditions can vary on an estuarine shore, so swimmers should pay attention to local signs and their own ability.
