About this beach
Freedom Beach is a small cove on Koh Tao’s south coast, on the eastern shore of Chalok Baan Kao Bay near the Laem Taa Toh cape. Fine white sand is shaded by Pemphis trees, a shallow coral reef lies not far out and Buddha Rock stands on the cape, with the tiny neighbouring cove of Freedom Beach II just before it. A steep, partly rough concrete road leads down, and an entry fee is charged.
