Duranbah Beach

Duranbah Beach is a short, sandy, east-facing shore beside the Tweed River entrance and close to the Queensland border. As New South Wales’ northernmost beach, it is especially known among surfers and bodyboarders, with a notable right-hand wave forming near the river break-wall. The open orientation leaves it exposed to ocean swell, so wave energy can change quickly. Swimmers should account for possible strong currents and rips and choose conditions suited to their experience.
