Box Beach
- Surf spot
Box Beach is a sandy, established surf beach between Fingal Bay and Shoal Bay in Tomaree National Park. Conical headlands frame the shoreline, which offers a more natural coastal setting for Nelson Bay locals and walkers following nearby tracks. The beach lies within a coastal habitat protection zone of the Port Stephens–Great Lakes Marine Park, and a small car park sits at the end of Box Beach Road. There is no lifeguard service and dangerous rip currents are documented here, so swimming should only be considered after a careful assessment of the conditions.
