Orchid Beach
Orchid Beach is a long, sandy ocean shoreline on the northern side of K’gari, set among a remote and strongly protected coastal landscape. The beach lies within the wider Great Sandy National Park and K’gari World Heritage setting, with broad sand country and open sea views. Reaching the area requires a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle and a vehicle permit; soft sand, tides and distance can make travel demanding. K’gari’s ocean beaches are unpatrolled, so swimming conditions should be assessed carefully before entering the water.
