Emu Point

Emu Point is a sandy beach and coastal recreation area near Albany, set on the more sheltered shoreline between Oyster Harbour and King George Sound. When conditions are calm, the bay suits swimming, jetty access, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling and foreshore walks; wind, tide and local water movement still matter. A car park at the Firth Street and Boongarrie Street intersection provides access toward the seawall, while the wider area has picnic grounds, free barbecues, a playground, public toilets and a swimming jetty. Emu Point is not patrolled, and the marina channel has strong currents that are unsuitable for swimming, so choose the water entry point carefully.
