About this beach

Monkey Beach, known locally as Yong Kasem, is a narrow strip of sand on Phi Phi Don beneath steep, forested slopes. It lies around the headland west of Loh Dalum and is usually reached by kayak or longtail. A reef sits just offshore, and wild macaques often come onto the sand; they can bite or snatch belongings, so do not feed them. Rounding the headland can be hard when waves are up.
