About this beach
La Calzada is a very wide sandy beach of about 2.3 km and 60 m on Sanlúcar de Barrameda’s urban shoreline. It is also known as El Hipódromo because of the famous horse races held on it every summer. Waters are generally calm, and it can be reached on foot or by car.
