As Vellas do Pozo sits on Punta Aguieira in Porto do Son, as a continuation of Aguieira beach. It is a semi-urban strip of sand and some rock, about 600 m long and 20 m wide. The surf is moderate and it can be windy. There is vegetation around it, and it is reached on foot or by car.
