Whiting Beach

Whiting Beach is a public sandy beach on Hickey Island at the Clarence River entrance in Yamba, facing Shoal Bay. The Harbour Street reserve and riverside walk provide easy town access, with parking, picnic tables, shade, showers and toilets nearby. Its sheltered water has little wave action and suits a quiet swim, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, while the tidal estuary and nearby navigation channel mean conditions and boat movements still deserve attention. The western end is an on-leash dog area.
