Surfers Cove

Surfers Cove is a remote sandy coastal cove around Black Point in D'Entrecasteaux National Park, facing the Southern Ocean. Nearby 135-million-year-old hexagonal basalt columns and walks along the ocean edge give the area its distinctive character. High-clearance four-wheel-drive access is required; local surfers use the coast, but rock fishing can be hazardous and there are no toilets at Black Point. Rocky shores, strong waves and cliffs mean visitors should assess conditions carefully.
