Mindil Beach
Mindil Beach is a broad sandy shore near Darwin’s city centre, opening onto the Timor Sea. Its adjoining green reserve provides walking paths, a playground, barbecues, parking, toilets and showers. During the dry-season market period, the sunset market adds food stalls, arts and crafts, and a lively evening setting. Top End beaches can have saltwater crocodile and seasonal stinger hazards, so anyone considering a swim should follow local warnings and signs.
